I'll take Big Brown in the #7 gate for the win.

And I'll put that 7 horse on top with 5, 10 and 12 for the super.

Big Brown for the Triple Crown?

Looks very possible.

Man! Did you see that horse run?!! In the last 1/4 mile when he pulled even with the other two horses, it looked like a whole other gear!! He just pulled away in two or three strides and suddenly the other horses were 3 or four lengths behind. Wow!! Big Brown is a beautiful beast!!

I am pissed at the local NBC (WBAL) because they showed some stupid pre-race special instead of the hockey game!!!!

Big Brown is a BEAST! My gosh is that one fantastic horse! I didn't see the Derby but watches him run yesterday and was in awe. Todays Pilot has an article about him and his future stud contract. Estimated at 50 mil. Almost what I make at stud! LOL!!!

Big Brown for the Triple Crown?

when i first saw your post i was like, yea right:rolleyes: every year there is always a horse that everyone says is going to win the 3c, but after watching that.......... you may be right, if he stays healthy id say he has a good chance. that be a fast horse!!!

The first time I saw this horse run was in the Florida Derby. He won that race by 5 lengths and looked truly amazing.

That win made him my winning pick for the Derby. (Ain't that right, Mark. :p)

I was doubtful when he pulled the 20 post. Only one other horse in history has won that race from that spot - in 1929.

His Derby win was unreal.

Yes, this year's Preakness had a prudy weak field. But the colt sure won it with style. I think Desormeaux left some in the tank at the end of the race, too.

Yes, I think he might be the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years.

Then again I remember thinking the same thing about both War Emblem and Funny Cide??

Perhaps if all the horses had been on steroids like BB it would have been a closer race. ;-)

Didn't know you were into the ponies, Jeff.

I was cursing the Preakness this weekend because of traffic--I'm within walking distance of the track. (Okay, a half-hour walk--just enough to royally f-things up.) I'll take you to the track if you're ever up this way.

It's funny, Matt.

I haven't followed the ponies much since I found P&S.

I still play roadtotheroses.com every year, which allows me to keep up the the Derby contenders.

I'd sure love to check out Pimlico someday. I'm gonna take you up on that offer, OK.

Winstrol?

That placebo is legal in Kentucky, Maryland and New York. :p

Lucky for him.

I'm putting my money on Karma and hoping Brown's owner gets his just desserts come Saturday.

Heres hoping you did not bet on that.
Heres to the jockey for noticing his horse was in trouble and pulling him down.

Disappointing loss. I was hoping to see a triple crown champion today. Oh well. What will next year bring?

Not sure but it will be a good year for me, if I don't have to watch a horse break down on the track.
The Jockey did a great job, sometimes its not all about winning.

What did the jockey do that was so impressive? He didn't pull him up until he was in last place and had absolutely no chance. Until then he'd ran him at full tilt. If they'd really cared about the horse they wouldn't have run him with a split hoof, OR put him on steroids at three years old. The only thing these guys were worried about was the almighty dollar. It's just lucky the horse wasn't injured to the point where he would have had to be put down.
