Replacing the spool shaft bushing

I was talking to a distance guy over he weekend, and he mentioned replacing the ABU Spool Shaft Bushing with a 3x10x4 bearing. Has anyone done this?

there is no point for a spool shaft bushing to bearing.,,,
it should be dry as a whistle.

since the spool shaft itself does not spin on cast, or it shouldnt actually..

you only really want the bearings to spin , as they are the ones that actually spin the spool, not the shaft.

now this only applies to the ultracast designs.
like the reel you use kwesi, (bearing inside spool)
if your talking about axle on spool design, which uses bushings on both ends instead.. .. then change em to bearings.
