Allright guys. Need your opinion on a good spinning outfit for the surf. Let me know what you guys are running, what rod will balance out, and so forth. Money is not that big of an issue, but I can't afford a saltiga or anything. Let me know what you think.

It depends on where you are fishing and what you are fishing for in the surf.A good universal rod is around 11ft and can throw 3-6 ozs.I have a Tica 11ft rod matched with a Daiwa Emblem Pro 5500 reel that I love.I also have a Daiwa Sealine X 11ft matched with Shimano Baitrunner.I have other rods and reels but I use these as my go to rods when I'm throwing bait in the surf in N.E.Florida or S.E.Georgia.Like I said it depends on what you are trying to do.

Just a good all around spinning outfit.. Maybe one that would handle braid ok. I've got the daiwa sealine x30sha with an 11 foot tica. Now I'm looking for advice on a decent all around spinning outfit for the surf..

My favorite all around surf rod is a 9' rated something like 1/2oz to 3oz.
The 9' Tica Dolphin is a very nice rod for the money. I've heard good things about the new Tsunami Airwave, but I've not fished the 9'er as of yet.
I really like the new Shimano Stradics, too. The new Saros are very close to the Stradics and they a little cheaper.
I think a 4000 Shimano is a good match for a 9' Tica. You could fish a 5000 on that rod with no problems if you wanted a little bigger reel.
The reason I like a 9' is the fact that you can throw everything from 1oz plastics, 2oz jigs/metals and 3oz sinkers (with a small bait) in the wash.
JMHO.
