Decided to go fishing today at Sunglow Pier...first time since my surgery!!! Still sore and will probably have a little trouble casting, but I will at least find out my limitations. I plan on using my lighter stuff, Stradic 5000 and 525 Mag. I only hope the fish are close to the pier, LOL!!! My wife will be with me, so if I do get anything bigger than a whiting or a blue, at least she can help me reel it in. I'll give a report this eve and hopefully there will be something good to say. Wish me luck!!! Larry
hey,, you never know.. the fish might be right under your feet and in your favor. xD!! good luck.

Good to hear you're back in the game. Got any snapper or sheepies stacked up on the pier pilings over there?
That sounds like just what you need.
Good luck, hope ya slayed em.

Well...mixed results. Fished the last two hours of outgoing and first two of incoming tide. Nothing until 20 minutes into incoming...a bonnethead shark about 20 in. 10 minutes later, another the same size, and 20 min. after that, another the same size. All three on frozen shrimp on my stradic. Had frozen finger mullet on the 525, but no takers. Also tried clams with no success. Couldn't really put all my oomph into my casts, but I still did better than I thought I would. I was a little surprised, though, that those small bonnethead got me a slight bit winded, but all in due time, I guess. Saw a few others pull in a couple of bonnetheads, some VERY small spades and one ladyfish. Other than that, no one was doing much of anything. My chest is still sore, but the casting and reeling in didn't seem to bother it that much. All-in-all, it was a good time simply because I was at least back at it and close to the salt spray again. That in itself was worth it. Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement.
Good deal, time on the water is priceless. Glad ya got into a few fish and are on the mend.

Take it like a cat eating grinding rock; Sloooooow!
Don't try to catch up all at one time. The fish will wait.
