Newbie in inlet fishing.

We are going to be in Ocean Isle later in July. I know it is not the best time for fishing but last year my wife took an interest and wants to fish the inlet this year.

I want to start her out with a nice spinning outfit and some basic rigs and lures. What would you suggest?
