The plan is to do a combo fishing/crabbing trip tomorrow . Will be concentrating on the lower Wicomico/Nanticoke/Manokin and smaller feeder creeks . After a little recon the other day I found some decent crabs . The croaker are there to be had as well . I'll be putting in at either Mt. Vernon or Champ . There have been some decent speckles caught in the Manokin . I don't expect the crabbing to be on fire since they're doubling up right now but the fishing should make up for it . Get in touch if you'd like to tag along . It should be a nice day on the water . 424 AM EDT FRI JUN 6 2008

Hot as Hades but me and the little lady came home with 20 nice HH from 14 to 18 inches . We didn't get on the water until after 12 noon but found cooperative fish in 18 to 22 ft of water . Caught 3 channel cats , one that was just under 4 lbs , large for this river . Very salty portion to boot . Saw 2 bald eagles way up a marsh creek and saw an osprey make a very acrobatic catch of a small rockfish . Very cool . I was using soft crab for bait but all of the larger fish and catfish were caught on Gulp Peelers in the 1 inch natural color . On numerous hook ups the fish had both hooks swallowed down to their gullet . Those things really work ! I tried the Gulp Shrimp too but no takers . Sorry no pics , camera was stolen from my boat along with 2 rod and reel combos , tackle bag , etc. a few weeks ago . The bad thing is that it was in broad daylight in my front yard ! Total : Over $800.00 !:mad: Dang crackheads !
