Took my Dad and Girlfriend out on Friday afternoon to play "Mate." Wes set up on the pilons at the bridge tunnel as the tide proceeded to slacken up nicely. We were drowning fiddlers at the base of the pilons on handtied drop loop rigs. It wasn't long before the action started. They were both doing well on the Taug Taug and Triggers. They sure did loose alot of gear though. But you know what they say, "Boy, if you aint loosing stuff, ya'aint doing it right." Man was they true. I need an entire new set of weights and hooks, and I carry alot with me! But it was well worth it. Anyway, the tide started going out. Cruised over to fishermans Island and backed up to nasty waves. Tosses some Menhaden up in the whitewater. Nada. Picked up lines and headed to the IMG. As soon as we set out lines reels start screaming... Shark. Then another, and another. We bailed them for an hour or so until my deck was red and most of my hooks gone. They shut off and we waited until the sun went down for a big red but nada. But we had alot of fun anyway.
