I am a newbie when it comes to Clarks.....any tips would be greatly appreciated!!! I will be fishing them strictly from the beach or pier so no need for trolling methods. I am hoping to open up a new can of whoop butt against the Spanish with them. Sizes, trailer/no trailer, castability, best color, retrieve styles, etc....??? Thanks in advance fellas.

...small sizes, reeled AFAP (as fast as possible):D
Remember that they can be leader shy. Fluoro is a plus.
Good luck, and let us know how you do

You'll need some weight to cast that thing out there, try a small trolling sinker or an egg sinker Carolinia rig style and reel in fast spanish like a fast retrieve. Also use a barrel swivel between the spoon and swivel at the main line.

Make sure your swivel is blk.... I use a blk bead between the weight and the swivel...to protect the knot ....I throw the 00 to 1 size in the rbm chrome
Weights from 1 to 2 oz
I hope this helps ...good luck !!!!!!!!!!

I usually throw a 1.5-2 oz trolling sinker infront of the spoon. Just a straight fast retrieve usually works, but you can always add a little extra action for good measure.

When you pick out a swivel, go ahead an get one of those pricy ball bearing swivels. You"ll be glad you did they out catch a reg swivel 10-1. Found this out commerical fishing macs offshore, that was with a 40 foot leader. I would i think it would make even more of a differance with a short leader. Once in the icw we found blues jumping, only had one ball bearing swivel. caught 30 some blues on that rod compaired to 2 blues on the rod with a reg barrell swivel. makes all the differance in the world when using clark or drone spoons.......... needless to say there"s about 20 ball bearing swivels in my tackle box now!!! good luck
