Hi there,

i bought a abu reel in december and have been using it a bunch. problem is that the last two times an important piece came off while fishing.
first was the nut that holds the crank handle.. luckily it fell into my yak so i put it back on and tightened it... next was the little knob to increase the tension on the spool... basically what a magnet would do... not as lucky this time since it fell into the water while fighting as fish.... lost the fish too!
does anyone know if this knob can be replaced ? and if so where? it's an abu ambassadeur c4 series...
thanks a lot for the help,

PJ

This links on this thread should lead you to your reel schematic:

Once you figure out the exact part #, you might try http://anglerspartscan.com/catalog/

I recently picked up two Cardinal 4 spools for the old Zebcos there.

Someone else may know a better parts source, but I did well with that one. :-)

Hope this helps.

you might try Abu and get one free or http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/index.php ... I believe it's a tension cap you are talking about .... the little cap for the handle should have had a screw to hold it in place and a clip that the screw goes thru and over the handle nut

Sorry man not quite that simple. The entire left side plate shot off and the spool stripped. I'll try to get pictures tonight.
