I fish tidal creeks with oyster beds for reds . I find the 3" gulp shrimp to work great on a Carolina rig with the hook exposed. My problem is that I hang up on the oyster beds. Do any of you rig weedless? If so what hook do you use. Has anyone tried the weedless hooks with weights on the shank of the hook? Thanks Will

I'd imagine it'd work weedless just fine. But it may just be your lead that's getting hung in the oysters.
Try some no snag leads, I make my own with parachute cord, a box of loose buckshot. Stick some shot in the hollow tube, melt the ends closed, hook a swivel through it, and you're ready to fish. They work great drifting, too, and don't cost a ton like the no snag sinkers in the store do.

Hey Smooth,
You and I had talked over on the SC board and in PMs about those black drums off the Vet Pier down at MI back in late Juneish. Remember I was telling you that we got those off that shell bed off the end to the right? You might want to try something like you're talking about down there. That might just work. We were getting hung up on that bed a lot.

I'll try that, thanks. I need to head back down there and fish once it cools down some.
