Well this is my 2,000 post here in the land of P&S. I remember my 1,000th post and I think I got some slack for typing something such as this.
I just wanted to reflect back to the transition I made since then being a lurker.
I first went to SPSP during trophy season hearing it was a good spot to fish. I had my Kmart Special and another Wally World white rod with two el cheapo reels. I think I was using bluefish rigs, with the hi glow styrofoam balls. Weeks later i was searching the web for spots to fish and came across this web site. Later in the fall, I was inspired to go fishing again and went to OC and bought my first combo, a nice tide runner and an Okuma Avenger 65. Later in January I bought an ugly stick an Shimmano of some sort. Then I started contributing and reading and asking lots of questions on here.
'
'Fast forward a few years and I have a pretty good arsenal of rods and reels, and 4 storage bings full of swivels, hooks, lures, line, leader, boots, jackets, hats, knives, plano bins, etc.
I am by no means an expert, I think of my self as a sort of journeyman of fishing.
I have met a lot of good people on here. An they have shown and taught me a lot. I now use shock leaders with the appropriate knots. The right size sinkers (NOT 2 ounce BANK IN THE SURF). I clean and take care of my gear and know the spots and now I find my self lending advice, tips and suggestions to the new lurkers on the board.
I wanted to take this time of this thread to thank every one that I have gotten advice from, tips and techniques from, and fished with.
Thanks to all of you for a great time. Here is to the future.
