Have not tried it yet, but I have tied a fish finder pompano rig.

Never had much success with Pomps and just started catching Sand Fleas, but as I was watching the surf and seeing them scurry in and out of the surf, it hit me that maybe a bottom two or one drop rig was not the ticket as the fleas hug the bottom and want to get back in the sand as soon as possible.

Seems to me that a fish finder bottom rig with a 1/0 or 2/0 Owner Mosquito baited with live Flea and tossed right into the surf or right behind the first wave would work especially if you pulled on the line like a jig to make it move like a real flea....

The only problem I see with that is they could dig into the sand and not be showing when a pomp swims by. But it could work, who knows, the only way to see is to try.

From my experience,,if you hook the flea he ain't living long and burrowing in the sand is not a problem

True. It oughtta work, may try it out sometime. I do like having 2 hooks baited when bottom fishing, but I do like FF rigs.
