Bashed my windows in broad daylight, on a busy street parked in front of a church. Stole our camera and my wifes purse from under the seat.

Hell, that happens everywhere. Smash and grabs only take about 20 seconds. Guy walks by, peeks in car, sees what he wants, elbows out the window, snatches and is gone.

that's nothing compared to downtown L.A.
near fegueroa and s. central, a car stopped on a red stop light, when the light turned green, his car won't move, the wheels was already gone- rims/tires the whole thing. and to think you're there in your car waiting for the light to turn green.

You haven't spent much time in Atlanta, Richmond, Charlotte, Columbia, Memphis, Tampa, Savannah, Miami, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Jackson, Birmingham, Houston, Dallas, Charleston, etc...have you? Let me clue you in. No offense, but it is EVERYWHERE!!!

No disrespect and I'm just messing. Definately some crime ridden areas south of the Mason/Dixon line though.:D

I'll share my experience.

Driving north on 95, through the Bronx area (Brukner expressway), traffic was at a crawl. As we moved through the area my wife and I saw a Cadillac pull over, saw the man get out and walk up the ramp and off the expressway. No sooner was he out of eyesight the work (if you wanna call it that) began.

They came down the ramp, tools and dollies in hand. Before the traffic ceaded they had stripped the Caddie to it's frame. Unbolting every conceivable item of value, removing the seats, the windows, tires and wheels, hoods, doors, and electronics. We were stunned at how fast they hoodlems stripped that car down to nothing.

Since that day I've asked myself a question..."If these guys are that effective, working as a team, why can't they be making money legally?" I guess the answer is obvious.... BUILD MORE JAILS SO THAT CRIME DOES NOT PAY.

Dude thats insane! I assume the car had broken dwn and the guy left to go seek repair? I have heard stories, but wow. How did the hoodlums transport the heavy things like chairs, etc? THey just throw it over the rail? Thats crazy!!!!

They came tools and carts in tow, they striped that car in minutes. It is something that neither I or my wife will ever forget. I was nothing short of amazing. With the efficiency of a hord of ants they tore apart the Caddie and took everything of value away.

up there {NY city} if it breaks down on the expressway you don't even think about trying to retrieve it, just call the insurance company... been that way before I started trucking up there in the 70's... I don't even like thinking about that s_ _t hole...

aint nothing finer then being in Carolina in the morning... :D

Ya know at first when we discovered the break in, I was amazed at how fast it had occured. I had been coming outside the house to the front porch. (where it was parked) to get a beer out of the cooler about every 15 mins or so. Now after talking to others, I feel so naive to how crooks work. That's watcha get being a good ole boy. Now I am just a little wiser I guess.

So, if he was crawling outta my truck, with my stuff, running away. Could I have shot him? lol

I'm thinkin a little 00 buck in the Ass might have him think twice next time.

It's a joke. No need to open the one about what is right or wrong about shooting somebody.

Oh. For broken windows out of town on Sunday when glass shops are closed.....

Cover window with cardboard, cover completely with box packing shipping tape. This held up for 400 miles, and a helluva thunderstorm. We passed people with ripped bags that failed while trying to remedy their same situation.
