well guys I did it 7:42AM today I quit smoking, so far so good. really wanted one after lunch but somehow shrugged it off, I hope to be able to do more fishing from money saved by quitting.

I hope you can keep it up man, it really is a bad habbit. I smoke when I'm fishing or drinking, and I need to knock it off too. Right now I probabley smoke a pack a week. I like a good cigar now and again, primarily Avo and Davidoff, but I only smoke those maybe once a month. Thank god, because they're 8-15 bucks a cigar. I wish you luck in kicking the habit, and that should give you quite a bit more to spend on fishing!!! As if we all don't spend enough on fishing already.. lol Good Luck.

If you like Avo's, try cigar auctioneer. Padron is my go to cigar, but I like Don Pepin, Oliva, Tatuaje, CAO Brazilia, Italia, ect. Full flavor and full body, as I smoke occasionally i.e. 1-2 times week unless on vacation.

congratulations I quit on Jan 1st of this year, I quit cold turkey, every time I went in my pocket to grab a smoke, I just told myself that I did not smoke, after about a week, the cravings stopped. The hardest thing to do was go to a bar and not have one.

Congrats and hang in there. I quit about 3 years ago now cold turkey. I started again, but have enough discipline to smoke 1-2 a week - usually on Fridays after work, or when fishing. But I don't smoke like I used to. I'll tell you one thing that helped me was to drink a ton of water. Do that for a while and try to smoke one after drinking a bottled water and it will taste nasty:--|

Good work!! Keep it up!! Everythign time you think about lighting up, just think of how crappy it is for you. Then go buy a new gotcha plug instead of a pack of cigs, and pretty soon you'll have tons!
