Wife and I got a cabin for 2 night at the end of t he month. I see they have land locked Stripers.
Any information on where to find them and bait of choice?
How is fishing from the shore?

I only live about 45 minutes away, but been a number of years since I fished the lake.
I caught plenty of bass and catfish, but never did score on the stripers there. Keep in mind land-locked stripers can be a bit more skittish than the ones in the bay or ocean. Shore fishing will depend on where you're staying. The times I fished it I owned a boat, which is typically needed to find the current locations of fish.
A few of the stripers I did see were caught on large minnows, but at times artificails can work also, best bet is to see if you can find bait fish and net some, but that generally requires a boat to hunt down the schools of baitfish (shad). One of the common methods is to find a deep spot and liveline a shad to where the stripers are holding. Again , that's more of a boat than shore technique.
There use to be regular posts on here by a couple of fly fishermen as to what was going on at the lake, but haven't seen their posts in awhile.
You can try the marina and some of the bait shops around the lake for up to date reports on what's biting, what's working, etc.
Have fun and let us know how you do. Just as a heads up the years I fished it , the bite greatly picked up a little later in the fall when the waters started to cool. THe bass could get crazy, practically fighting each other to steal bait away from one another. In the summertime , it's tougher, the fish like to hang deeper, especially where the water is very clear (many areas) but there's always a chance.

I've seen reports on here in the past from Fly Wacko. Might want to summon some help from him.

Try fishing with Glenn Briggs. You will be very happy with his service.
Red Fins and Sassy Shads crush Stripers on Lake Anna.
The lake has boggled many experienced anglers due to the lack of visible shoreline cover, other than boat docks. Most of the fishing on Lake Anna is concentrated on structure fishing channel beds, bends, humps, points etc. There are thousands of secret brushpiles strategically placed along the structure. Good Luck.

There is a lot of fishing on Dike 3. You are able to fish on both sides of the dike so you can try your hand on the private side or on the public (main) lake.
However, if you are staying in a cabin up at Lake Anna State Park you may want to ask at the Visitor's Center if they can suggest any places around there that will be much closer for you. You may find the fishings OK off the piers right there, if that's where you're staying.
Have fun.

If dike 3 is too far away to be relaxing just fish in front of your cabin. Catch some bluegill on worms and cut em up like you were at SPSP. You'll probable just get catfish.
If I were going there, I'd pound the banks for bass with grubs, tsuanmi shads, stingray grubs and jig and pigs all day then use spinner baits in the lowlight (best) conditions. You can wade fish too, not sure if it is legal though. I'd also put out minnows on bobbers anytime for a sure bet bass/perch/crappie bite around bushes.

Should have gotten some county maps a head of time; any way, I did find Dike 3 and talked to a local fishermen there and fishing is way down; no rain since June and the water is little warm.
They got a little rain from TS Fay on Thursday.
Fishing in front of the cabin would of been a night mare; too many boaters/PWC, skiers and tubing going on Monday.
Any way got to do a little reading and sight seeing of the area. Lots of wooded area are there.
Cabin was great; but, the beds were a sore back waiting to happen.
Like to plan a fall trip there since it is ~125 miles away.
