I am a plain jane when it comes to my pizza. My absolute favorite pizza is pepporoni with extra cheese; maybe even deep dish i'm feelin wild n crazy!!! I like any and all pizzas, some more than others. I know people say "Oh you haven't had pizza till you been to New York" or this and that. I've been to New york, and the sbarros on my college campus tasted JUST as good!! I LOVE PIZZA!!!!!!!!!!

I would never eat that pinneapple crap or all those other wierd things people do and ruin pizza!!:eek:

Haha yumm,, now i'm thinkin about orderin one to carry to the pier with me when I get off work!!! :D:beer:

I would tell you about the pizza restaurant I take my family to about twice a month, but I don't want to drive 20 miles or so and have to wait on gatting a table. It's worth the drive though. Sorry I can't give you more info.:D

I've always heard the pizza up north is very good, but I've never eaten any from up there. One thing I've heard is that the pizzas are bigger up there. Around here, a "large" is 16 inches.

I guess the best pizza I've eaten was at a place called Joe Bologna's near campus at the University of Kentucky (Locally called Joe B's, but not to be confused with Joe B. Hall hehe). They had killer garlic breadsticks, about a foot long, that you got with the pizza, too.

I rarely order pizzas around here, but if I do, I can go ABLC (Anything but Little Caesars).

Hey JeepMike, a good ham and pineapple pizza's pretty good! :)

Excellent toppings!! Add bacon! Not that I like Pizza Hut at all but there was a training place that sold pizzas near Columbia, and the three toppings you mention were delicious when made there....haven't ordered there in years so I can't say if the place is still there.

We make outstanding pizza here at home. Venison BBQ is a favorite topping, pulled pork with garlic, day after crab cake, fresh shrimp or day after steamed, green and red peppers from the farm or market, sweet onions both red and white, sour onions both white and yellow, pineapple, walnuts (yes!!) especially with scallops, lamb or gyro meat (visit Sysco), white sauce, yogurt, cinnimon...

After years in restaurant business and part owner in a pizzaria we cooked em all. I had a pizza party for my kids' b-day, had the whole neigborhood come over, we had all the basics (including anchovies, jalapenos.) A Korean neighbor brought squid and kimchie and we made a fine tasting pie.

ANCHOVIES RULE!!! If I'm ruled out of that, which is the usual case, then I'll opt for meat sauce.

BTW: Meat sauce is not merely putting hamburger on a pizza, its a sauce with all the aromatic Italian spices... OH YEAH...

My last pizza, with anchovies!!, will be before Sept. 1 and I'm not eating another one until 2009.

Grotto's in Rehobeth. :)

I had Grotto's more than 30 years ago...it was fantastic. And ate em through 2007. I'll eat em when I'm in Delaware but they aren't the same pie as they used to be (as if anything is these days...)

I'm still boycotting Delware and am not going there this Fall for striper season. After spending money on gas and bait and line and lures and food the last thing I wanna pay is some simple minded saltwater fishing fee (but I paid for it in Fla and NC this year...call me a hypocit...). I'll probably change my mind. ... next year ...

AI this FALL!!!!

The AV in D.C. had the best pizza, plain or with anchovies. Too bad they sold out to a developer.

Seafood pizza from Bottoms Up pizza in downtown Richmond is very good.
Also grabbed some good pizza walking on the way back from Baxters to my hotel one night in Norfolk - pepperonni and cheese and man was it good. Too bad I never knew the name of the place (might have had something to do with the bar I just came from). Was a takeout headed from Baxters to the Marriot Waterside. If anyone knows the name of it, please IM me.

bottoms up is good if you want a smancy pizza, believe it or not, a pepperoni from Piccolas down on campus(harrison and main) is as close as I have ever had to a true NY pizza. Thin crispy but chewy crust, large, and just AWESOME.

There used to be a place just outside Charleston, WV, called "Hogjaws Pizza", believe it or not. The best way to explain it is a "deep dish thin crust pizza"! If you ordered the supreme, you had to cradle it in both arms to keep it from falling out of the bottom of the cardboard box!!! At the time, it was also the cheapest pizza in the area. Sadly, a 4-lane highway (yes, they do have those in WV, LOL) took out the place. I'd give $30 for one of those pizzas today!!!

The original Ponzetti's on the boardwalk in OC - nothing tasted better then a slice when you came off the beach (washed down with a birch beer).

That place in Avon (can't remember the name - was across the street from our house) on the south-bound side of 12 had a nice pie.

For delivery = Papa Johns. Maybe it's just their garlic sauce.

There's also a place in Rehobeth - about a block off the boardwalk and just off the corner (I remember a Candy Kitchen being nearby (across the parking lot). I've been there a few times and LOVE their pizza.
