What brand of 10lb Braid would you suggest

Do you mean 10lb equivalent diameter
or
10lb supposed breaking strength.
I've had really good luck with Powerpro. There are others that are good too.

I like the Sufix braid a lot. Fireline is really good as well from what others have told me, but I have no personal experience with it. Might try searching as well, this has been talked about a lot in the past. You'll get folks who either love it or hate it depending on brand, and other who hate it altogether. Regardless of what braid you get, don't overfill the spool and close the bail manually making sure the line is in the roller groove (assuming you're using spinners). These two tricks will save you some headaches regardless of brand.

I have used power pro, fireline, Stren superbraid and suffix and to be honest they all work good. To me the important thing is to have a reel that works well with braid and to always manually close the bail and seat the line in the roller, have a rod with a forgiving tip and adjust your drag a little looser then you would with mono since there is no stretch. If you follow that advice you should be happy with any kind you bring home.

That is very good advice. These days I usually pick the one that has the best price at the time. There are some differences between the brands of braid.I've tried several different ones over the last year or so also. Now i just buy the ones I can find that are on sale.:fishing:

I use 10# fireline on a penn 260 slammer matched with a tsunami airwave. Fished the outer banks last weekend and caught many blue fish and a spanish. Used a glass minnow, making hundreds of cast with out one single wind knot. After fireline has been fished a couple times, it gets better.

Very true. I've used all of the above before, and while all will perform great if fished properly and on a good reel like you said, i find that i like sufix the best. It just seems a little bit smoother, and i like the way it casts and lays on the spool. Used powerpro for the longest time since it first came out and thought i'd never see the need to switch, but once i started using sufix, it was hard to go back to powerpro or any of the others. I'm almost afraid to try some of the high dollar lines because i know the same thing will happen again:p.

I have used most of the brands, even many of the JDM and other European brands and would say that I prefer PowerPro and to a slightly lesser degree the Sufix brand.
I use 10 lb line PowerPro on both spinning and revolving spool reels. As most people will be using spinning tackle, there are a couple of points that might help.
Don't put the line on with the twist, there are several ways to do this, check the 'net you can find several good ones.
Make sure the line is secured to the spool with tape or a few yards of mono underneath the braid
As in a previous post above, make sure your roller on the bail is not grooved or damaged and is free-running under pressure (this is a good tip, regardless of line type)
Do not, repeat, do not use the auto bail trip to close the bail! Every time you do this, you introduce line twist, and increase greatly the chances of a "wind knot" due to clack line. Manually close the bail! I have fished for days and days and never a wind knot, but let someone else use the same rod and reel with the same rig and they use the bail auto-trip and shortly have line twist and wind knots.
As to the idea of not filling the spool too much - the necessay level really depends on how the line is spooled on the reel - some reels I can fill until I am almost scared to cast, and never have a problem, some reels I can't put anything close to the amount they're supposed to take without excess line balooning off the spool.
Lastly, if you have never fished braid, it's a different animal, and the no stretch can be either your friend or enemy, but used well, it's great!
On an odd note sea bird have a real problem seeing 10lb braided line, they're can't see that fine line - even worse than light mono. They often fly into my line when casting in the surf.

powerpro...cheapest per yard and thinnest per pound test which means better casting distance.
