First cast and I was like "Wow,the rods so light weight and cast so well... I should had brought this monthhhs ago...(I was throwing bait with a 3oz pyramid sinker)

Second Cast.... I heard a really loud crack.... Gazed over at the rod...THE ROD SNAPPED INTO TWO!!! WHAT THE #@$%@....

I just brought the @#$@ing rod today... I'll go back to the store tomorrow, hoping they would give me a refund or something..

I have several tsunami rods and have never heard of anyone having a problem until now. Mine have been great, and I would suspect that you will have no problem getting it swapped out.

i have 2 airwaves, a 10fter and a 7fter. i've tossed 6nbait with the 10fter with no problem. i've also used the trophy series with no prob also. What is your rod rated? the problem with the airwaves is that the ratings are overstated on the rods.

I got it exchanged today.
The 8fter Airwave is rated for 5/8 - 3 oz and I was just throwing a 3oz sinker with bunker chunks nothing too heavy and it simply snapped.

So should I down-step to a 2oz? What do you guys think

Bunker chunk = 2 oz plus, so you were exceeding limit by weight of bunker + weight of the rig. Most small rods are usually overrated anyway.

Wow sucks, well you got it replaced! Maybe you just got a bad one; you know couse rods sometimes after a long time they will start getting frayed and stuff but thats like in the sun so, no comments.

So I should probably use the 8fter for lures...
What do you guys recommend for throwing baits

The blank probably was defective or damaged during shipping (nick in wall). Now snap casting is another possibility though not as likely.

When I get a new rod I try the limits on both ends. A rod rated like that would be seeing metal from me and I can be a little violent. But with bait the cast is a slow acceleration.

I'd fish the sucka hard.
