I have a few questions about corded electric push lawnmowers. I am looking to get one that's capable of maintaining a front and back area, townhouse yard coverage.
Saw one at Lowes and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it. The specs are below.

Can they be used on grass that's still damp from the previous day's rain? Can they be used on morning dew covered grass? I'm concerned about the shock potential and what safeguards I would have to be aware of. Do they last past the 2 year warranty?

I think this is the same mower I've had for about two seasons now. I think it works pretty well for small yards. I really like not having to deal with gas/oil. If you're used to a gas mower, you will notice a difference in power, but it cuts fine if you keep up with your yard. Also, if you're used to gas, you'll have to get used to managing the cord as you cut. It works best if you find a pattern where you cut closest to the outlet and work your way out from there.
As far as I know, there are no issues cutting wet grass and shock, but I wouldn't stand in a 3-inch deep puddle with it...hopefully your outdoor outlets are ground-fault protected, which should add another margin of safety.

I would definitely recommend NOT going with Black and Decker. Their electric mower sucks. Isn't shocking hwo the major lawn mower brands like honda and toro do not have electric models. I recommend checking out http://www.lawnmowersworld.com/electric/ and learning about the Neuton electric mower.

I had one too and they are a decent little mower .... it does best if you don't let it get too high or wet .... but for a small yard they work great .... plug it in and go

because of no gas/oil and no tuneup is necessary. As others said, you do have to be careful not to cut the cord.

I had one before from Sears so you might want to check this store out. ALso, check out Home Depot and Lowes.

However, the lawn has to be simple with very few plants, etc because, otherwise the cord can be a pain to handle.

Thanks guys. I'm most interested in not having to deal with the gas fumes issue. Also not having to do a tune-up is high up there as well. It'll be used for maintenance of a small area. There are some tree roots, but they can be worked around.

And the electric is eco friendly.

One more question....Is the electric mower quieter than the gas fueled ones are?

Thanks again guys

my neighbor has a cordless mower electric mower and its pretty quiet you just take the battery out and charge it. he tried to run the battery out by cutting his front and back yards then our front yard and it still had power left over. it cuts pretty good and you can put a bag on it. ill find out the brand tommorow. he got it refurbished for like $200
