He did not make history, he tied history, there is a guy from South Carolina that made history, his name is Cale Yarborough.

Cale Yarborough is the man .. And yes Jimmie Johnson TIED his three cup titles in a row to be in the record books.. And to think all the years he has left to break more records..

Back in the day, when you mentioned racing in the South, people automatically thought Petty, Yarborough, Pearson, Waltrip, or Allison.
What I'm wondering is now if people mention racing, is Johnson one of the first ones who come to mind, or do people still think Earnhardt or Gordon?
It's going to be interesting to see how Johnson stacks up on the all-time list and in the public's imagination of the sport, imo. What he accomplished is a major big deal, especially in an era when the cars are "so close" in terms of being competitive and at the same level. Congrats to him for it.
