52MR in red/white

My favorites in order for trout, striper, and pups.

Top Pup in olive (olive top, silver side, white belly) is DEADLY on the pups when the mullet are thick.

One of each of course!!

Basic red and white are good, as well as the Chartreuse. Not knowing how many you are getting. The dark Purple are good for those black nights. Which color that works best depends on the conditions of the day.

My favorite question: what are your favorite mirrolures?

OK, here's the scoop. Go to the Mirrolure website, look at all the colors and pretty pictures, then download the catelog.

For NC Surf Spec Trout Must haves - 52MR or TTR Same size lures. R means rattle. TT means "tiny trout" spotted.
Colors:
11 white, red head.
808 gold sides, black back, orange belly.
EC Electric Chicken (also called Texas Chicken or Nuclear Chicken) Pink back, white/silver, Charteuse Belly.
18 or 21 choose either Green back, white/silver sides or Black back, white/silver sides.
PD or NS. For NIGHT fishing either Purple Demon or Night Stalker.
Any color that you like....many like the charteuse flavors.

Make sure you buy more than one 808 and EC!!!!!!!!!

Most of the 52 and TT lures above are avaliable in a newer Series III holographic version. I don't know which is better the classics or the series III.

In the last few years Mirrolure has come out with 4 or 5 models of topwater lures. From the surf in the ocean these are difficult to use. I have no reccomendations here.

Here's the HOT NEWS: 2 new lures, the 17MR and the 27MR have become the absolute speckled trout killers in the last two years. Choose any color you want. The 27 is a larger size version of the 17. The problem IMHO is both are too light at 3/8 ounces or less for surf casting. They are EXCELLENT for protected inshore waters and from the boat.

Here's the secret. The S25MR, shown as a Series III Catch 5 named lure, is exactly like the 17 & 27 but bigger. It is 3/4 ounces and casts like a bullet. PERFECT for the surf angler. Get it in any color you want plus the same colors as the 52 & TT.

Enjoy and report back please!
