I apologize if this has been posted before, it’s the first I've heard of it. Looks like a fishing license isn’t enough anymore $$. This new program should at least double the fish populations.

Last I heard this was tabled for a year or so to get some kinks worked out. How it's going to double fish populations is beyond me. I hope it doesn't result in newer more restrictive limits based on the number of anglers only with no real harvest data to back it up.

I am going to have to read more about this. This looks like more government control. I don't mind registering but what I think is going to happen is a way for them to get more money and control of the sportsfisherman. You know what happens when the government gets involved and it is not good.
We need to keep our eye on this and let our senators and congressman know what we think. Right now it does not sound good.

Oh ok. Wouldn't surprise if they did say something like that though.

It only matters if you fish federal waters AND aren't licensed in a state that meets the data collection guidelines.
I guess I'm lucky that I carry a NC lifetime license.

This is the first I have heard of this and it is very upsetting. How can it even be feasible to them that the recreational fisherman can impact the fish population more than the commercial fisheries? It doesn't even make any sense!
