So will it be "GSP" or the "Prodigy"?
Unless BJ, can knock him out- GSP will take it with Points.
I would really like to see that French Canadian get his.

yeah i think its gonna be brutal, but ive thought that in the past about GSP fights before they happen, they then run into 3 round point matches that he wins.
i really think its gonna be a good fight, BJ wants his revenge.
far as who i want to win, i hope bj smashes him hard with some elbows to the noggin and ends it fast. would love to GSP tap from a arm bar, and watch bj kindly snap it quick b4 he can tap :D

GO BJ!!!
Somehow in my imagination BJ is really my long lost older brother.
Either early round knock out or late round submission.
Anybody see his Hawaiian Warrior training?
I also hope Machida stops running from people and destroys Thiago with his great technique BUT we all know he likes to keep his pretty face. So Machida by decision.
I also predict Karo Parisyan has one or two nasty Judo throws.
Wow, it's going to be a great weekend.
Here we go.....Steelers......Here go.

As much as I hate to say it, I'm rooting for the Canadian in this one. I thought that BJ was robbed in their first match, and I rooted for him.
BUT...
after seeing how much of a bastage BJ was to Pulver, and how arrogant he is, I'm rooting gsp in this one. Here's the breakdown:
Conditioning:
gsp 10/10
bj 6/10
Strength:
gsp 10/10
bj 6/10
Standup:
gsp 8/10
bj 8/10
Wrestling:
gsp 9/10
bj 6/10
Submissions:
gsp 7/10
bj 11/10
KO Power:
gsp 7/10
bj 5/10
Takedowns:
gsp 9/10
bj 7/10
Any way you break it down, gsp has the edge...plus he is smart and strong enough NOT to make a bjj match out of it. Also, I think that his wrestling will keep it a stalemate on the ground.
I see either a close decision, with gsp winning on takedowns OR gsp pulling a ground n pound TKO in the middle rounds. I think that this one will start slow because both guys are so good and so dangerous.

Do you know anything about MMA?
Look at machida's record. he has wins over Bonnar, Franklin, Soko, Kaz Nak, Ortiz AND BJ Penn.
I would't call this running. He is a counterpuncher (like liddell) but has a better all-around game and sub/wrestling game, and less KO power. He is one of 2 guys I give a legit shot at beating A.Silva, since he can fight at 185 if he cuts. I also give him an edge over Rashad. He will be the next 205 champ if Dana White doesn't avoid the match. He speaks no english and is not flashy, thus would make a poor "media" champ.
If you are referring to the Tito fight, he is not as strong as tito...but he's twice as talented. he knew that the only way tito could beat him was straight ahead. Machida wouldn't play tito's game. Good gameplan.

We will see.....BJ did get robbed the 1st go round i was surprised at the descision.
Another good one coming down the pike is Rashad Evans vs. Quinton Rampage Jackson.> I think that will be a Bar-room brawl that goes the distance!!!

haha!
true mma fan.
He exactly that, a counter puncher, he'll wait.............and wait.............Zzzzz's the crowd before he engages his point karate match fighting style. While Rogan and Goldblum spout words like " Unusual" and " Unorthodox".
Until he shows some aggressiveness he's Lyoto MaCheetah to me. :p
No killer instict. Don't rush in there like Arlovski but Hurt'em and finish the fight. Silva says he plans on chasing him so he might get his chance. This fight could very well be KO of the night.
I hope he proves me wrong. But I'm calling MaCheetah by decision.

you gotta be kidding me!!!
heavier hands has to go to bj
as for standup..........did you see the first fight? bj all the way
conditioning is a problem with bj, so conditioning goes to gsp
you cant put wrestling up there if you dont put bjj as well. so lets just rate the ground game. gotta give this one to bj by a hair.
bj knows the longer the fight goes, the worse its going to be for him. i think its going to be a furious first round with bj looking to knock out gsp by countering the 1000's of leg kicks that gsp will undoubtedly be throwing at him. if gsp makes it through the third round he has a good chance of winning.
i cant wait to see this fight, it is going to be real close
so here is my prediction- bj wins by arm bar in the 3rd??:rolleyes:

ok, wrestling nullifies bjj....too many examples to name.
the point of bjj is submissions, and BJ is top 5 p4p sub guy ever! 11/10
as far as standup, BJ WAS better, but the damage was done by an eye-poke and some slick jabs in the 1st fight....since then, gsp has pounded hughes twice; and BJ had a problem with hughes's standup. Gotta say dead even on this one. also, bj will never armbar gsp. he has 1 loss by sub...to hughes in his 1st fight...by armbar. He had NO bjj at the time and was caught in a kimura reversal. He ain't going down that was. The only way bj wins is by decision or crazy sub.
Also, look at the bj/sherk fight and the gsp/sherk fight. BJ won, gsp almost committed manslaughter.
also, i agree that Machida is boring, but he is the best gameplanner in the game. he will win a snoozer.

1st fight, guida over diaz (split decision) i thought it would have been unanimous?
guida's pase was too much for him. cant tell you how happy i am that someone finally shut that smart ass's mouth up.
now if pyrisian, sylva, bonnar, and bj win, ill win my 5 line parlay!!!!!

2nd fight, pyrision got the split decision (sloppy fight)

there goes my parlay:mad:
jones over bonner by unanimous decision.
jones was gassed out in the 3rd round so stupid ass bonner decides to try and clinch with a greco guy. i know bonner was tired but if he could have thrown 5 hard punches(in a row) at him in the third, he would have won.
bonner needs to stop ducking his head and looking at the ground when he punches!!!!

gsp over penn (doctor stoppage between round 4 and 5)
yes gsp was winning but i cant stand that kind of stoppage:mad::mad:
i thought penn said he was working on his cardio??? guess not
virginia boy 1
02-01-2009, 01:49 AM
BJ was just outclassed. It had nothing to do with cardio. GSP dominated all facets of the fight. EVEN THE GROUND GAME! As I said, wrestling nullifies bjj.
gsp is just the better fighter.
Lip Ripper
02-01-2009, 02:03 AM
i think cardio had a huge part in the fight bj had the first round then in the second his scrambles got slow as hell and each round it got worse.
the only way wrestling nullify's bjj if the wrestler is much bigger than the bjj guy. which was defiantly the case here.
gsp beat penn tonight ,but to say that wrestling nullifies bjj is just false.

dear P&S,
I TOLD YOU SO
Lmao :p
I'm happy overall. The only thing I'm not happy about is Bj not bringing his A game. My hats off to GSP for a strong wrestling game.
and he is No longer MaCheetah. Very impressive 1st round knockout. I'm happy. He'll get his title shot soon.

lets not forget GSP is a big 170, BJ is a natural 155... lot of size difference here... haven't seen the fight yet but you have to give them both their due for having this fight go the distance it did... there's no one else that's taken a fight with GSP this far lately...
