Naw...but heard them old timers use a spark plug when sinkers weren't available.
I've seen and chuckled when I saw an old Pepsi bottle, a hook, and hand line bring up a spot at Rudee inlet.

You mean like bismuth? Never tried it, but lots of freshwater guys are starting to use it. Plus is makes wicked cool crystals.

i have seen some "BIO-friendly" sinkers and split shot at Dick's Sports and such. i actually use them for the freshwater side. it does the job. as far as it being bio friendly.... who really knows? it could just be one hell of a marketing scheme.

Slapping "bio" or "eco" on everything is a dumb marketing technique (google "greenwashing"), but the difference between lead and bismuth is not a gimmick.
Bismuth is harmless (it's actually where Pepto-Bismol gets its name from); lead causes nervous system damage, especially in children. It's a little too expensive right now, but some of the bismuth alloys are worth a shot for smaller applications.
