hey everybody. this looks like an awesome forum. i am in college, i work on the chesapeake bay in the summer crabbing, love to deer and duck hunt, and really like to fish. i dont have my own boat, so all i do is fish from the bank, beach, or whatever i can happen to find to walk on:D i am thinking about getting a kayak to open up the options, we'll see how well the crab gods pay this year...:rolleyes: anyway, and i was wondering if any of you guys are like me, and do all your fishing from the land?

well yeah, the name kinda hinted that this was a surf forum:rolleyes:
i guess a better way to ask is, are most of you PIER AND SURF members exclusive pier and surf fishers, or is it something you do when you dont have time for going out in the boat?

Yes i know, i know.
I should have been more formal...Deermaster, my apologies. Welcome to this wonderful site, which is a gold mine for fishin info. Enjoy it here. Lots of great guys on here :)
(Sorry, but i thought the title of the site was purty clear:redface: )
I understand what you're saying now...So yes deermaster, i exclusively fish from the pier and surf, unless i get an invitation to go on a boat to do some fishing.

bro, you and me are in the same "boat" here, im a college student down here in San Antonio Tx, and i also dont have a boat, but from my experience, you dont need one to still have a great time fishin, i just recently got a yak, it was a good investment, but i still just shore/wade/pier fish for the most part...........
welcome to the family bud

I got a boat, and so far they all welcomed me. Funniest group of wad throwers I ever been around. Hey, wait a minute here, I just joined and no one welcomed me here. Was it my breath?
Deermaster,
Where you from on the bay. I lived in Cambridge for years?
For everybody we forgot to Welcome and say Hello to;

I own a boat and fish from it often. But I also every other way I can including Pier, Surf, Bridge, etc. Boats open up a lot more fishing area and many more species but it can be just as fun from shore and a lot more simple.
