Just thought I would stop lurking and finally contribute when I can. I am a ocean fisherman who is landlocked until the kids are grown. We make it to the beach (Garden City, SC) about twice a year. I love to fish and I am perfectly capable of spending every second of a weeks vacations lounging on the sand with a couple surf rods waiting for a bite. There is also a desire to catch some fish with my TFO 8wt. I have plenty of flies tied and ready to make and offer.

We are heading to the beach this coming weekend, and I am almost completely mentally checked out of work. Looking forward to posting about a successful trip.

Bear with me if I ask some dumb questions about saltwater fishing, but feel free to ask me about trout fishing in East TN

Bubba- I live in Knoxville and work in Sevierville
I will hit the tailwaters or smokey mtns depending on where work has me that day. I sell kitchens and I try to end up near water when I can :fishing:

I have fished the Clinch a bit,and the holston just a little. Looking forward to getting back out and chasing some trout!

Heading to the beach is fully taken over my thinking, so the trout are safe for a little while longer

Hey FFJ, Go VOLS! How's the selection of saltwater gear at the BPS there in S'ville these days? Last time i was down there, they didn't have much. If they've stocked up some, I might make a trip down on Sat.
