wrightsville beach pier surf report

hey guys, I fished down at wrightsville on the johnnie mercer pier on saturday. the weather was beautiful but the winds were a'gusting! fished shrimp in the afternoon, no hook ups... went back at 6pm and the dogs were killing all forms of bait fish; mullet, cigars, etc. I'd suggest bringing your own bait, all they had was some stank shrimp:--|The current water temp was at 51 degrees, and should get to about 54 degrees in the coming weeks. Hopefully the weather stays nice, I'll be at either topsail or wrightsville in two weeks, see ya there!

ps - can anyone direct me to a thread about setting up the 2 rod anchor rig for kings?

My girl and I just got back in from Wrightsville Beach, (south end). Did a little pluggin' so she could get in some practice casting. Wind blowing straight in, cooooold water, nada. Birds weren't even diving.

Found some neat shells, though ! :)

When do blues show up, 57/58 ?
