curious about magging my 500L jigmaster?

I had mentioned about magging if it was possible with an old harddrive maggnet.
well it fits but im stumped here? the spool is aluminum does this still work?? also
do I place a maggnet on each side of spool or just the one side?

please verify if there is any difference?

Magnetic braking works fine on aluminum. You do not need to mag both ends.
