I found this site when I was looking for some casting tips. I have a new 12 surf rod on the way from Bass Pro. THis will be my first casting rod - all others are spin cast. I will be hooking my Saltist to the 12 footer and heading to Cape Lookout on Thursday. Any pointers would be appreciated. I am not a greenhorn to surf fishing - just green to this site and baitcasting with as 12 footer. Thanks.

I was over at Cape Lookout last weekend. A couple large drum were landed at the south point on fresh bluefish. Good luck.
