I have a lot to learn in this area. But as I understand it, fishing major moon phases and monrise/moonset is good, fishing incoming or outgoing tides is good, and fishing surnsrise/sunset is good.

Tomorrow morning, there will be a low tide, rising moon and rising sun, all within 2 hours of each other, also will be a new moon phase beginning.

I'm assuming this will be a good time to go fishing :)

But I am wondering if anybody has any input about how they choose the times to go fish. How do you fish bay and bayou (canal) inlets during tides? and whatever else you do pertaining to weather and celestial events.
anything will help.

A watch that me and my dad came across that takes your nearst lat and long, time behind world time, date. it puts everything together for you along with rise, set and moon phase(with some other things) and gives the best four times a day to go fishing, and the best days of the month..you can even check as far in the future as you want to plan ahead!!
we have used them for two years now and i can tell you they work and are very accurate. now i could just be gullible but i dont think so..it has proven true time and time again...but all in all w/o this, if i only had two days a month to go fishing i would go fishing on a full or new moon 2 hours before high tide through 2 to 3 hours after the tide starts going out..

I'll take fishing anytime. Nice just being outside even if nothing is biting. Sometimes I hope nothing does bite, it interrupts my nap and beer drinking. :D

I fish and hunt with the moon tables. I try and plan on good times but often just go when I can. It is better on the listed hot times.

It all depends on what your fishing for. Thats one loaded question you asked and it should be interesting to see the replys. My advice is research the target fish your looking for. For example, Tog bit at slack tide or when there is minimal range in tide or slow moving current. Stripers though, the faster the current, the better the fishing. Most people, myself included like an outgoing tide as the sun has warmed the water in the small estuaries, creeks, and bays that are loaded with baitfish, schrimp, etc and on the way out the fish will sit and feed on these animals. But what if your fishing a flat? Then you might want an incoming tide as the fish will come in that area and feed. Its a very relative question with lots of right answers depending on what you seek. The tide tables/feed tables do work. Nobody can tell me different on that. I've seen that with deer too. What if the moon was bright at night and the fish were feeding all night and you show in the a.m.? Its all going to be different in each area you fish, you really just need to pay attention to whats going on with the water and its a learning experience. Research the species. Doing your homework always pays off at test time.

JUST FISH. learning takes years and never stops. the fish do not have a watch. all you can do is try to get an edge. never be scared to try something different. enjoy the time.
