I'm in the market for a new "pole" for the new coming summer, and am seriously considering pulling the trigger on Zziplex PTX/Bass...

As you all know, the exchange rate and shipping is enough to get a second rod by it's self... so i'm wondering if there is anyone that would have a conventional bass for sale??

If it's too difficult or expensive I'll go a head and order one from Greys but I thought I'd check local first since many of you have Zippy's.

if no luck, try summerlands, they should be cheaper

Thanks,
I did contact Summerlands and they has said they were only servicing UK right now... I don't know if that's a recent thing or just my luck  ha ha...
thanks for the tip however.

try other boards and exhaust all other options before spending that pretty penny over seas as someone has just what your looking for right here in the states...just gotta find out where there at or where they hang. Try posting on craigs list

Hey Mud,
You know I never even thought to look on CL for a decent rod:confused:... might have to try that out... I do keep an eye on other boards.. and know there are a few people that hold Zippys for ransom :p on that one striper board ha ha... I'll keep looking around.

Hell I might just opt to try one of the new St Croix Legends, I just hate the handle/grip they put on them.

Summerlands doesn't sell outside the UK, but UK hooks does.

You might try contacting Big Dave, who sometimes posts on here, to see if he might know of the whereabouts of one.

I'm not all that familiar with that rod, but I do have 2 Zziplex rods for sale at the moment. One is the Zziplex profile, and the other is a Primo Synchro light.

THe profile is built, the primo lite is just a blank at the moment, but I could custom build to suit. Both rods are 13' long, and designed to throw lighter weights 2-5 oz, or so.

Another option is Merrick Tackle, there in the states, but you need to set up a wholesale account to do business with them, and last time I checked, they didn't have much on hand in the way of Zziplex- tho they do list Zziplex in their catalog.

If I can help, let me know.

Thanks for the input Surf Cat,
Your two Zippy's aren't quite what I'm looking for (altho the profile is tempting)..

If all else fails, I'll hit up Big Dave or Thumb-Burner, I'm in no hurry (obviously if I'm willing to buy over seas ha ha) and just testing the water to see how problematic getting one of these more forgiving Zippy's might be.

Thanks again.

When I bought my Primo Syncro in December, from Mike @ UK Hooks he had it on my porch delivered in 3 days...:D

3 days?

Wow, it took Bennetts Of Sheffield nearly a month to get me a Drennan Waggler.... and that's a factory rod. I'll give UK Hooks another look.. thanks for the input.

I've bought several Zippies from Mike at UK hooks, including the profile- very satisfied with them- talked to Mike several times-- but be warned - the shipping has gotten ridiculous lately.

Yea that missle tube they ship it in weighs a ton, but it was packed with what seemed like 100 feet of bubble wrap! I think my shipping was about $165, and then two weeks ago I got a bill from customs for $48 more buckos...
