replacment for suffix chartreuse tri?

I have loved using suffix tri in the surf for the last 4 years, but now it's pretty much impossible to find locally and the two businesses that I see on the net that I have it, people have reported order and shipping problems (hatteras outfitters and castaway lakes) and I need it in a week or so. Please pm me if u've recently had better luck with shipping and orders with them or if u know a reliable place to buy it.

Especially for you guys who use to use tri, what do you now use instead that's comprable? I liked the fact that it was soft enough to be castable and yet way over-tested. I use to use 17# tri in chartreuse for my my blue yonder and 525 mags and these are the reels that need the line. I also really liked the visibility of the chartreuse. These are strictly bait reels that I use on the open beach and jetty/piers. The yonder has just enough line still from last year, but my 525 mags don't have enough of the sufix on them and they need to be replaced before I fish with them

I just came from Sportsman's Warehouse in Columbia, SC. They have plenty of tri in green. No chartreuse in the store.

Other lines I've used and liked are Hi-Seas Red Devil in pink and Berkeley Big Game in Solar Green.

How does P-line cxx compare to it? I know its strong, but is it as castable?

I want to get the tri in 25# but it only comes in the 1# spool (for char & orange), so I am also looking for something similar. I'm tired of wasting money on trial and error :)

The CXX is strong and castable, but has terrible abrasion resistance. It does have more spool memory than the tri also. I dont have a problem getting it at all right now, the local Bass Pro doesnt have any, but I have a small shop local that has plenty

I tried the Stren Stamina last year and liked it very much, it comes in gold and "coral", ten bucks for a 1/4 spool a little pricey but it is pretty supple and ties good knots for me anyway....geo

I have been using Hi-Seas Red Devil for a over 2 years and like it better than the Sufix Tri. It is the most visible line I have ever seen in all light conditions. It is also a co-polymer line very similar to Sufix Tri in memory, abrasion resistance, and knot tying, although I have had some earlier spools that had a little more stretch. I still use Sufix Tri in Chartreuse and gold and Berkley Big Game in solar collector and electric blue so that when I have multiply rods out I can keep track of each line more easily with the different colors.

I only live about 5 mins from there, great place been going there for years

It is the best place to buy surf rods for sure. If he doesnt have it in the store he can usually get it for you in less than a week.
