How many of you guys have seen these movies??? What did you think of them? I think the "critics" are smoking crack rock!!!! Slum Dog Millionaire wasn't so bad I guess, but I definitely don't think it lived up to the hype. The Wrestler was a complete disappointment for me.... I don't know, maybe I'm just not "artsy" enough!!:D Seriously though, how did you guys like these two movies.

My wife and daughter saw Slumdog and pretty much would agree with you on the overhyped part. I didn't see it, though.

Jus saw the Wrestler over the weekend... glad I Red Boxed it and jus paid $1.00... Woulda been mad if I went to Blockbuster and shelled out the big $$$... Father time and hard livin' has scarred Mickey Rourke... funny thing, he was in 9 1/2 Weeks w/ Kim Bassinger.... Now he is a wrinkly, tired old man...... WOnder if he got Botox injections in his lower lip?

Gonna try to sit thru Slum Dog..... Fishin' buddy of mine sez its a fantastic movie...

I have about as much desire to watch Slumdog as I would have to watch a Spice Girls concert.

I am surprised at the comments on The Wrestler though. Been meaning to watch it for a while now. Bill Simmons on ESPN.com wrote about how great it was (and how eerie it paralleled Rourkes own life) that made me want to see it bad.

don't believe the hype. Wait for it on cable or rent it for a buck on Red Box. I do not know what all the hype was about.... 300 or Talledaga Nights was a better movie.

He looks like that because had a short boxing career a while back and tried to have plastic surgery done to fix some stuff. He went to the wrong guy and got butchered :spam:. He talked about it in an interview with somebody on tv when this came out.

And do you know who Rourkes trainer was for boxing? Freddie Roach, who most know as Manny Pacquiao's long-time trainer. That was when Roach really broke onto the trainer scene (after having been a long time fighter of his own). Relevant? Probably not, but good Jeopardy info

Don't care for either.
Turned them off and rented Australia on Direct TV. Much better

Yeah,,,, Mickey Rourke has definitely seen better days for sure.. I don't even know if I've watched a movie with him in it before this "Wrestler" movie. Here's an old and new photo of Mickey. You have to remember though, the pictures were probably taken twenty some odd years apart... Nevermind, it says "93" right on the glove, so the pictures are 16 years apart. That hard livin definitely caught up to him, but it could be worse I suppose.

The girl that played "Latika" in Slum Dog Millionaire is kind of smokin though!!! Give it up for Frieda Pinto!!!! Let's put it this way, she's a whole lot prettier than Mickey or Micheal!!:D:rolleyes::--|

Slumdog wasn't that bad Ben. DEFINITELY better than the Wrestler, but for me it didn't live up to the hype. I don't know what I was expecting out of "The Wrestler", being I've never even been a wrestling fan..LOL.. To be honest, I've been disappointed in 90% of the newer movies that have come out.

I was hoping the movie to be more " Rocky-esque"...nope....slow and who wants to se Mickey Rourke cry?

Sylvestors latest movies, Rocky and Rambo were better... Rambo was ridiculuos..."Let the bodies hit the floor"
