I acquired one of these old reels a couple weeks ago and am now trying to fix it up. One problem--I can't get the spool to come out. I removed the gear side sideplate, and the spool gives a little, but it won't seperate completely from the fixed left-side sideplate. Additionally, what kind of configuration would the drags have had on this reel? It appears to be completely devoid of any kind of drag washers, so I'm at a loss there.
