I own one 9ft with the lowrider guides. I absolutely love it.
I have the 8 footer with the low rider guides and use it strictly for plugging. Love the blank and it can put a hurtin' on large fish. Reminds me of the comparable G Loomis Surf rod (SUR965S) which is my favorite.
Pros:
A lot of backbone
A great caster
Adjustable reel seat
Weight system available
Beautiful finish
Cons:
Adjustable reel seat is a little big for my liking.
Can get a little heavy after a few hours of fishing.
Made in China
If you can get a good deal on it, go for it!

I had a chance to cast the 12' Tiralejo last year and I really liked it. The adjustable reel seat lets you customize the fit based on your own preference. And it is more solid than coasters. It would be a spiked rod for me though. Too heavy to just hold forever.

I had a chance to cast Emanuel's rod and that thing is SICK!!!! Really light weight. Incredible distance and seemed to really have nice power and strength to light a heavy fish. I was a while back and apparently it left an impression on me. It seems that he had a Croc spoon on it that was about 3ozs and he had 60lb PP and that thing was a rocket that seemed to out cast every one on the pier that day. The guides seemed a bit odd to me but they do their job well.
Now I am thinking that I need one of those to put a Lefty Van Staal on... That may be fishing heaven. Or fishing materialism... I don't know, but that is a sick rod.

Coupled with a Van Staal, yeah, that would be SICK. I have #50 PP on there and I would have gone with #30 but I didn't want to use a shock leader and I've been using that rod for cobia.
By the way, lemme know if you want some kingfish steaks. I'm still giving away bags of it.

Thanks but no. I had my share of mackerel tonight with some Baja style fish tacos made with some fresh Spanish that I rustled up on St Andrews Pier today. Fun day! Caught the most fish in one day since I started back fishing. The perfect amount too! Just enough for dinner for the entire family. I love it when it works out that way.

I have the 12' casting model. I think they are good rods but a little pricey at full retail. I was able to pick mine up at a half price sale so to me, that makes it an exellent rod.
The 12 footer is rated 4-10 ozs, but for me, 8 'n bait is pushing it'.
I was a little skeptical of the low rider guides at first because of the small diameter. With good slim knots they have worked fine.
The adjustable reel set took a little getting use to, just remember to tighten the same amount on the top and the bottom. I have used it with an abu 6500 and a Daiwa 30 SHX with no problems.
What I like best is Shimano's Lifetime Warrenty. What I was told when I bought mine was that if you ever have a problem, even if it was your fault, you can take it to any dealer that has another in stock and do a direct over the counter trade. I sure hope this holds true.
