Chartruese swimmin' mullet Gulps work great for flounder and reds. Watch out for sea bass and blues though because they will snip the tails off faster than you can put them back on. Gulps are'nt cheap either! Throw them by the grass for pup reds and drag them on the flats for flounder. The new penny Gulp shrimp work great for specks.

DOA CAL series Shad tails and Saltwater Assassin shad tails in rootbeer/chartreuse tail, white/pink tail, electric chicken, silver mullet, ect. Work great for specks, puppy drum, and flounder.

I always keep some 3" curly-tail grubs and jig heads handy. Mister Twister white and chartreuse sparkle. Here recently, picked up some of the BPS Walleye Tourney Series 3" grubs on sale in Firetiger and opaque chartreuse. Drumdum glad to hear you say that about the new penny. I have some new penny and nuclear chicken shrimp in the Gulp Alive, along with some fiddlers in the new penney, and I plan on trying them out next week. I really liked the look of that YUM Money Minnow 3.5 inch in the Foxy Shad color (blue back, chart side, then fades to silver below with sparkle - green eye - freshwater), so I picked up a pack of those and some weighted swimbait hooks and will probably give those a go, too - have never used those before, kind of pricey. Back in the day, my dad and I used to use the Mann's Jelly Grub (crappie grubs with the pointy paddle-tail - don't know what else to call it) down in Florida and we'd catch pompano and whiting in the surf. I always keep a few plastics handy, no matter if I'm fishing fresh or saltwater, even though if the blues are around the plastics don't last long.

I've always been partial to the D.O.A. CAL baits as well. I especially like the paddle tail/shad tail ones.
The D.O.A. Terror Eyz kick butt in the surf down here in Florida as well.

Manns Sting Ray Grubs. They're great in the 4" avacado and white. I also use the 3" avacado when I go fishing for river smallies.

If you're not fishing the breakers, I'd try throwing a weightless Zoom baby shad. The action tears specks up.
