I was looking at the Ocean Master Casting OM 10SC at BPS and noticed that the threads on the reel seat were on the bottom. Shouldn't the threads be on top for a casting rod? The sales guy thought so too. Are OM's just made that way or is this a manufacturing mistake?

This is the way the Ocean Master surf sticks are. Regarding the orientation of the threads, it's really just personal preference: there's no right or wrong direction. I actually prefer my reel seats to have the threads on the bottom because I get a better grip on the coarse threads when casting and when I'm reeling, my hand is on cork.

Thanks AK, I wasn't sure if it would affect the rod/reel any but had to make sure before purchasing.
