My girlfriend thinks I'm a hot sauce junky. I put it on alot of stuff and I'm always up for new flavors/pain.
Right now I have Crystal's and about 5 other flavors in the cabinet, plus Sirachi in the fridge. Any other recommendations?

Well heres one, but you may have a hard time getting it. Swampland hot sauce, that is some good stuff, cant buy it anywhere that I know of, I got mine at the rod expo from swampland tackle. I can usually get a bottle with my rod supplies when I order from them also, not very hot, but a great flavor

it depends on what its going on, but a good all around one for mexican food is Chalula (sp). if i want heat ill pull out the old Endorphin Rush, its hotter than daves insanity sauce but has a better flavor and is great on beans or in chili. i also like that one with the chinese writing and a rooster on the bottle.

At the two places that I worked at in the kitchen, we used to used a sauce called Hoy-Hoy, not sure on the spelling, but I do know that it had to be kept in a glass container, not plastic or foam cause it would melt the container. A 1/8th of a tsp was just about overkill on a 16qt pot of chilli.

My personal opinion is that Crystals flavor is a tad better than Texas Pete or equal. The Chalula is very good and seems to have a more fruity taste. Somebody gave me a new bottle today called Red Savina "Ouch" Hot Sauce which I just tried, hot, but very grounded. It includes a Habanero Puree and sweet potatoes. Worth a try if you can find it. If you're just flat out sick and like pain then get the bright yellow bottles that come in from places like Trinidad and Tobago and other areas of the Carribean. They will hurt you, don't say I didn't warn you.

Hey Y'all, I was just reading the blurb on the bottle of Savina and its produced locally, here in Kill Devil Hills. larry@outer-banks.com Give it a try and support something local.

My favorite is the kind i make myself (rude dogg has some good recipies) only using habanero peppers. The store doesnt sell the bhut jolokia's. They are way hotter that habs (guiness gave them the title of the hottest). Any brand of sauce you can buy at the grocery store i can just about drink.
Daves and blairs has some hot stuff as well. http://www.hotsauce.com/Blair-s-16-Million-Reserve-Crystals-p/misc-blairs-16-million.htm They also have the 16 million reseve wich runs for over FIVE hundred dollars.
Go for the blairs 3 am or something along those line if your seriously looking to hurt your bowels:)

You talikng about melindas red savina hot sauce? That stuff has a great flavor but its super low on the packing any heat. Seems just a notch above texas pete, which is water.
Yeah im a hot sauce junkie. I might not be able to fish as good as you guys but i would bet money i would out last in a hot sauce/pepper eating contest.

if you haven't already tried it, you might like the Endorphin rush.

For flavor, Tapatio is pretty good, but I still think Cholula (both Original and Garlic) has the best flavor. For outright heat, Dave's Insanity Sauce is the hottest I've found so far, but not much flavor. I also have bottles of every sauce Tobasco makes, as well as several other hotsauces that don't really measure up.

I had one out of Louisiana, not sure of the name, with a sugarcane base. Sweet and dark but still with some damn good bite.

I like heat too, but I am more interested in what it can add flavor wise. I don't care for stuff that is super hot like dave's insanity sauce. To me that stuff ruins food.
My favorites are Tiger Sauce, Crystals, the Datil Sauce at Firehouse Subs, Sirachi, Thai Chili paste. I use all of these frequently, excepting the Firehouse subs stuff. I like Thai food and Korean and some Vietnamese and they all have some really hot stuff so I am always looking for good flavors. I like some Indian and Caribbean foods too and those can be pretty hot as well.

Tabasco makes one like that called "Sweet and Spicy" and also a Habanero pepper sauce that's sweet and pretty hot. Carried in most grocery stores, so it should be easy to get your hands on some.

For sauces you can find in the grocery, I like Cholula and the GREEN Tabasco (not as vinegary as the regular Tabasco)
But for the SERIOUS hot sauces, check out
