Thought I'd post some pics of the New River Gorge bridge in WV. Took these on my way back to FL. This is the bridge that they base jump from as well as bungee jump. I believe it was Dodge that made the commercial with the SUV or truck dropping off the side on bungee cords as well. The river below is the New River. I've white water rafted it before and we went right under the bridge. The water was a little muddy on this particular day, but I can tell you it is some of the best bass fishing in the country.

Beautiful for sure. Unlike most of the rivers in Appalachia, it flows north.
When my cousins lived in Pearisburg, VA, I used to go up there and we'd float fish that river. It's a great river for smallmouth. I haven't seen EverSoDull on P&S in awhile, but I think he fishes it quite a bit.

From Charleston, originally, but also lived in Clarksburg and Snowshoe Resort. Spent a lot of time in the Army, but still consider WV my "Home"!

Used to take that bridge a lot from Summersville down to Beckley. Ex-bro-in-law's family is from Summersville, and when we were in the Marines I used to go up to WV with him a lot. Beautiful country up there. Got to love the mountain lakes where you go out 30 feet from the shore and it drops off to who knows where.
That's certainly a scary bridge if you don't like heights or bridges. Fortunately, I'm ok with both, but I've had passengers who I thought were going to have a fit going over it.

It's GOD's Country, I'm tellin' ya! It's GOD's Country!!! I will say this...even though I LOVE FL, and the WEATHER here, as well as the FISHING, there IS just a certain SOMETHING about those Mountains!!! Nothing can touch 'em!!! I miss them, but I don't miss the SNOW!

I liked the snow. Was up there for Christmas a few years back, and we got a heck of a snowstorm. Had 8" of snow on the ground that morning. No different than where I grew up in Ohio. I miss a good snowstorm every now and then.
