Ten Commandments
Some people have trouble with all those 'shall's' and 'shall not's' in the Ten Commandments. Folks just aren't used to talking in those terms. So, in middle Tennessee they translated the 'King James' into ' Jackson County ' language....no joke (posted on the wall at Cross Trails Church in Gainesboro , TN ).
(1) Just one God
(2) Put nothin' before God
(3) Watch yer mouth
(4) Git yourself to Sunday meetin'
(5) Honor yer Ma & Pa
(6) No killin'
(7) No foolin' around with another fellow's gal
(8) Don't take what ain't yers
(9) No tellin' tales or gossipin'
(10) Don't be hankerin' for yer buddy's stuff?
Now that's plain an' simple. Y'all have a nice day!?

I've heard of some places doing this, but didn't know about the place in Middle Tennessee.

LOL kooler - you can do the handlin' and I'll do the filming - not much of a fan of snakes here.
When I was in college, I read about how H.L. Mencken spent his time in Dayton (Scopes Trial) in the mountains observing snake-handlers. I decided to do the same thing - went over into eastern Kentucky with a buddy of mine - didn't take a camcorder, though. On a different trip, I also saw one of those "old timey" doctors clean out people's sinuses by having them hold an aluminum pie plate in their laps, feeling around on their faces, and pushing pressure points. I guess you'd call that a "hillbilly accupressurist," but I swear I've seen it work. Without having to pay for an office visit. Crazy stuff.

thats wild BubbaHo. sounds like you were working on your thesis for those trips, must have been interesting for sure. i would have enjoyed checking that experience out.
off the subject but i was watching the Bristol 250 last nite on espn and they went to a caution at 10:30 pm with a few laps left and when they came back from commercial espn played the tennis match. what the heck,,,,,,pretty cheesy programming. not a big deal cause i had my music to get me thru but i thought it was kinda strange.
