Well I woke up thismorning with a cup of coffee and decided i was going to make some more king rigs, went to get the hooks and wire leader out of the garage and.... some a$$hole broke in the window yesterday apparently while me and my wife were out shopping and stole all my fishin stuff! :( everything not a single rod left. Talked to the only local police officer and he says "there's not much he can do because nobody saw anything" I guess the rest of the winter and most of the spring will be spent working OT to replace all my stuff.

One day i'll run into these bastards and shame on 'em.

It's sad, we're out here bustin our @sses for what we have and someone wants to come along and steal from us. All I can say is they best hope the police get to 'em before I do. I really hate to say it but it was most likely one of the local crackheads needing money. I'll be keeping an eye out at the pawn shops for the next few weeks. I'm sure the stuff will start showin up there soon.

Tight Lines and God Bless you all during this Holiday Season and may you all have a great new year.

Sorry to hear bout your stuff Ive had some of my things stolen out of my tackle box before from the pier while i go down to the bathroom or something and nobody ever saw a thing??? Thankfully it hasnt happend recently.I solved the theft problem by keepin all my rods, reels and tackle in there own room in my house that and I keep 5 rounds of 00 buck beside my shotgun best anti-theft decive out there is a 12 ga. Let 'em break in if they have the b@lls to come in my house then they got the b@lls to get shot!

Sorry for your loss. If it is any consolation, the person or people
who stole your gear most defintely have an awful life. They
will have a police record, lack of good solid friends, and they will
always live on the border of life financially. All that said
have a good X-mas and always count your blessings, someone
could have encountered them during the break-in and been
put into a dangerous situation.

Did any of your rods have custom wraps that would be recognizable? I ask because you should post pictures here so NC members can be on the lookout.

Yrs ago I had a heaver stolen out of my truck, then the next yr a fighting rod right off the planks while in the bathroom, both had 1000c's on them.. I've been fortunate since, but can relate to your anger,Tim..:(

nah there wasn't really anything that stood out on the rods except the yellow pier pass tags that was left wrapped around 4 of 'em. Had a meeting with the chief of police today and he says he has some good leads as to where they are and he is working on it so i haven't lost hope. He's coming out tomorrow to setup a few video cameras and stick a few things around the house to tempt the thief. It seems quite a few things from different neighbors have been stolen and the fingers are all pointing in one direction. People that live just behind my house  As they will have trouble getting rid of that much saltwater tackle and gear in the area i'm in i'm sure they will find something.

Have also been checking all the pawn shops within 30 miles and they haven't came across anything yet. If it dosen't get found then I honestly hope it makes someones life a little better then it was and they use and respect the equipment and the sport of fishing as I do.

It's time for me to get to making some caramel popcorn and peanuts for christmas presents for friends.

Good Luck on the recovery of your equipment.

Sound like the police are on top of things down there.

Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Hope he is not lurking on this message board. If so, he now knows what the police are doing to catch him.

I'm pretty sure that the thief is not a member of this board because this is a fishing board and I doubt that the thief is a fisherman. If for some reason the person is a member of this board then shame on them since it is a sin to steal from another fisherman. Hey Sharkbite, I'm sorry that you had all of your fishing gear stolen. Will your insurance pay for all of the stolen gear? Let us know if you recover your stuff.
