I went down to one of my favorite casting spots on the beach with a 9' Tica, Penn 525 mag, 80# spiderwire, and a large Tomic. The water was slick, a few birds working, some excited, wind calm. On the first cast after twitching the lure a couple of times the water exploded and my lure was knocked into the air, when it hit the water about 10' away it was instantly sucked in and the ride was on. Knowing that I had set my drag to a good amount of rod bend I began to put my back into it. After a few runs taking as much line as he liked I began to gain a little ground. When the match neared the shore he came to the surface to show off his huge lines running down his side and as if to say "I see you again" engineered his own release. I said "Thank you" and gave him a salute.
