If your fishing alot of saltwater you want the Coronado not the EB. Goto Okumas website and read the specks. The EB is made for light saltwater the Coronado for hard saltwater....Tightlines

Are they smooth?

Yes very, but they are huge! If you want a plugging reel or a reel for the bay go with the cd-65. I plan on using those reels in the surf at AI.

Orest,
I used this reel for plugging the surf in the fall on my 8' Okuma Solaris and my 7' Gotcha Rod..sure did perform well..I just picked up a 460 last weekend..I have the cd-65 and cd-50..I really like them both..the line really comes off nice during the cast. also like the baitfeeder features..my cd-50 spent a lot of time on the 8' Okuma fishing the Cape Henlopen Pier this summer. Good luck to you with whatever reel you decide to purchase. Murph:)

I really like the Okuma reels. I have already the EB 65 on my Okuma Solaris 12'. I just picked a 10' at Dick's and was thinking of putting the EB 65 on it and getting a larger reel for the 12'.

Went with the Okuma CD-90 from James Tackle.
$74.99 + $5.05 shipping not to bad.
Thanks to all who replied, especially Hat80 and FLF.
Like I said I'll put the CD 90 on the Solaris 12' 3-8 oz. and the EB 65 on the Solaris 10' 3-8 oz. Those 2 will go nicely will my 12' Tica 4-10 oz rod and my Tica Dolphin SE10000.
Got tell you about my 2 trips to Wal-Mart this pass weekend.
Went there on Friday morning, after I took my cat to the Vet., to get some oil and oil filter to change my wife's SUV and my trucks oil. Walked by the clearance aisles and they had a trash can full of combo's and some rod's and on the shelfs were all kinds of line, there some guy there and he told me everything was 50% the lowest price sticker. So I got a 6'6" Shakespeare combo for $5.00, good enough for trout fishing and pond fishing and 2 1/4 lb. spool of Berkley Vanish line for $1.00 each.
I went back Sat. morning just to looks again in the clearance aisle, would you believe everything in there was $.50.
I got another combo Pinnacle 6'6" Vision, about 6 spools of line from Spider Wire, Yo-Zurir and Berkley Vanish line, got 2 soft sides coolers that will hold 24 cans and a Colemen 28 qt. that will hold 2 liter bottles, got 2 hand warmer, a Coleman ProCat Catalytic heater, got a Kryptonite bike lock for my son's bike, 18 piece bungee cord set for boat covers, some marine chrome tie downs abd 3 boxes of golf balls.
I must of spent over $200. and got it all for $9.95. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.

Went that night with the wife and the shelf were cleared out.
The reason for the $.50 sale was to make room for their Easter stuff and spring items.

You'll only grab a bluefish by the lip once.
I don't know? I saw FLF do it twice at PLO last year. Maybe this year he'll know better but I don't think I would bet on it....LOL
