Thur 2/19/04 **************************************************** The Penn 965 TH-100 drag washers will fit on the handle shaft and will fit into the main gear after triming the out side to the same size as the metal 6500 washer . Remove the first drag washer and replace with one of the trimed TH-100's. I don't know how much this increases the drag power . I will get with a fishing buddy (Steve Austin )and put the scales on mine and one of Steve's and check to see how much stronger it is. It seems like a lot but that's guess work. I will let you know as soon as I find out . ****************************************************

ABU 6500 Drag Test results . I got with Steve Austin and checked the drags on our 6500's . Test # 1 : the upgraded 6500 = 8#s of pull . Test # 2 : the non upgraded 6500 = 5# of pull . This tests show that there is over a 50% increase in drag . IMHO the upgrade is worth it.
