BTW for me it was a toss up between Cobia or Red Drum but I picked the Drum I been wanting a Drum since I first read about them in SWS in 1974 and every Drum picture that is posted fuels my desire to get one.

I have caught everything on the list except a Cobia or a Tarpon. I hope to catch both before I die. I voted Cobia because I think I have a better chance from shore. They catch some Tarpon from shore in Texas but I have not seen it yet.

I'm going with tarpon just because I want to catch one, from the surf. I'll have the gear to do it, so now I just have to put in the time. I've already caught shark, striper, monster reds, black drum, flounder from the pier/surf but to catch a tarpon would be a real accomplishment.

As for cobia or kings, yeah, I'll put a rig out for them too.

I want a fat albacore from the beach...then a MONSTER silver king i'll take that one from a pier:D

Hey cocoflea i think that this is one of the best polls someone has posted. You got a bunch of responses in just a few days .Plus I see that the big brown bruiser is still in the lead for most wanted fish!

I decided to post this poll after talking with Manayunk Jake we both want to catch a Drum this year Red is the first choice Black if we can't get a Red, but believe me Cobia is next on my hit list with the King Mackerel not too far behind and if I was to catch all of them this year I would call this the best yeat ever but now I starting to dream and ramble on.

If I can work it out with the new job I'll take you up on it and also I might have to go to a Referee Clinic in May or June in Mytrle Beach so sometime this year I should be in you neck of the woods.

Choices, choices… well since we can only make one choice I am going with big red. I have several options that are on my list of things to do, but my next target fish will be a big Red Drum and than I may set my sights on one of those Cobia. I have only caught a couple of the big boys and still enjoy catching those tasty little critters that I started fishing for, but I must say that my love is to be in battle with the big boys, ever since my first accidental hook-up with a four foot black tip on Ocracoke four summers ago. The battle that followed that first tug on the line was by far the most exciting fight I had ever had with any fish, fresh or saltwater, and after several attempts too steal all my fishing line, I was lucky enough to beach the fish and from that point on, I was hooked and my bank account empty! :D :(

Havent caught a black drum or cobia yet, but cobia gets my vote. I'll be down in OC,MD for a trip with a buddy whose uncle runs a local mag and charter business. Any pointers for a good month to nab a big ol' cobia?
BTW, there arent many fish that have a boat manufacturer that carries their namesake!;)

Voted for Tarpon..........caught alot of lady fish and they say lady fish are like really small tarpon....Run...jump...run the other way..jump...flip.....run again and jump....jump and shake.....run some more jump, twist, shake and jump............I would freak out if I hooked into a Tarpon. :D

Hey Fish4Kings104

Caught those Lady fish off Tybee Pier......While trying for Trout in the surf.....they are fun to catch.......usally give them to the shark fisherman on the end for bait....they are real bloody.

Here's one from the planks Andre,I caught her back in 87..I'm sure Pier Legend could post at least three or four, but this is my only one from the planks.. Emanuel,I couldn't imagine one of these critters from the surf,as you said,it would be quite and acomplishment..Now I catch them from a boat, not quite as much an acomplishment, but it definatly makes them more available to catch.. :D

Hey Glenn. You and me, we'll put in the time for that big ol' silver mullet. Heh, or catch a whole bunch of ladyfish. Besides, the get-together should be at the perfect time for just about everything.

I would have to say red drum. I've never caught a big one before and have always wanted to. Maybe this will be my year.

The only three I haven't caught are the Cobe, King Mack and Tarpon. The Cobe is the one I'm after next but the chances of a King Mack are probably better.

Me, I'd have to say an upper 30" or better yet 40" striper from the surf. One thing for sure, if I am lucky enough to break the 40" mark, I'd have a hard time keeping her, I don't know if I could eat my "trophy", so, maybe a few pics for posterity(?) and a kiss goodbye.

It won't be long now for the resumption of this conquest, one of which I am rarely the winner (couple of low to mid 30"ers to date), yet always striving for that ultimate battle of mine.

Now come fall, it would have to be getting a fat red from the beach during what only seems to be a two week window in October. Been able to catch a couple in the slot range, but one over the upper limits to release to go along with a spring striper, would make for a warmer winter.

Fish or no fish though, just waking up, being able to make my drive and hanging out on the beach is a reward in and of itself.

Have Jeep will travel. :D
