Are skate edible and if so how do you clean and cook them. I havent been fishing yet but it seems alot of people are catching skates more than fish.

geo, I'm with you, aren't there enough real fish out there to keep folks from wanting to eat Skates??!! Maybe the next "Survivor" show could have something about it kinda like the first one where they ate rats.

Skates are a North Jersey fluke fisherman's worst nightmare! I've heard of desperate people cutting the wings off them and grilling them? But I think I'd rather grill up an old sneaker frist. And if you want to see what they look like, just get on a good drift in july or august in North Jersey and you'll catch 5 to ever 1 fluke you get :(
