I was in Virginia and loaned my stepson some fishingline. He returned it but it was red. Called Cajun Advantage. I have not heard of it before. Has anyone used it? My North American Fisherman book says that it is invisible to a fish in as little as three feet of water.
Like I say I have not heard of it before.

I have heard of it but have never used it. A buddy of mine talked me into trying Power Pro. I'm not a fan on anykind of braided line, but I guess I'll try it.

by up to 60%. I might try pairing some with the red hooks i use. Bass Pro shops sells it. Can anyone give some names of other Va Beach area stores that carry it?

Thanks

I bought some cajun line a little while ago and I like it a lot. Just purchased a 2lb spool of 17lb test to put on all my reels. It's got a good feel to it and I've caught some nice fish this year on it. I have a "cheap" 10ft combo with this line and have pulled out a 39 & a 36 incher on it this year. Here is a link to the site, there is a store location on the site.

I bought a 1/4lb spool from Bass Pro a little while ago but ordered the 2lb spool from Cabelas, it was the only place I could find the 2lb spool.

Bass Pro shops and eAngler offer the 2 lb spool in a few strengths. Might be a bit pricier. $43-45 per spool.

The super store on Holland Road has it in Virginia Beach . I assume all K- Marts have it.

Keep in mind that if you're looking to increase strikes, the line you use has no impact if you're using a shocker and any kind of terminal tackle. The line you use down on the end is what counts, because that's what the fish sees.

Hey Flea I remember a couple years ago when we were at the Pax River Naval Station and I pulled in the rod and reel that was crusted over and full of barnacles. I still kick myself that I did not keep that.

Here's a question from my 12 y.o. kid.

If the fish don't see the red line then why do they put red on some fishin lures?

The red on lures is to catch fishermen!

The red end of the spectrum is filtered by water after only a few feet, rendering it black, not colorless. I've heard good things about the Cajun red as far as strength and sensitivity are concerned, but have yet to try it. On topwater lures, red looks red to a fish, but on a deeper running lure in the classic 'red-head/white body' the fish seem to respond to the contrast between the red(black) and white.
