Bourbon:
I don't like Bourbon. But given a choice,,, Jack Daniel's please
George Dickel Old #12 for me.
PS: I don't understand people that would ruin good Whiskey by poring Coke ect. in it. If that's what your going to do any rock gut will work.
Ok. pick your category and no Whiskey and Coke folks pleaseIf you gotta mix it with Coke or 7UP, you need to check your man hood at the door
Three categories to respond to:
Bourbon:
I don't like Bourbon. But given a choice,,, Jack Daniel's please
Scotch:
Don't care for Scotch, again given a choice,,,who cares it is alcohol,,better yet pass me a beer
Irish:
Now we are starting to talk.
1. Jamison's
2. Old Bushmill's
3. And If I feel rich at the moment of purchase,,,Tulamore Dew
Canadian Whiskey:
Ah yes now we get down to it. The spirit that made Al Capone millions during Prohibition.
1. Canadian Club 6 Year old....best whiskey for the buck
2. Seagram's VO about $2 bucks more that CC,,,and about the same quality. Stick with CC 6
3. Canadian Club 12 Year Old Reserve....as good as Crown Royal at 3/4 the price.
4. Canadian Hunter...best 2-3 year blend
4. Black Velvet Reserve 8 Year Old,,,just tried my first bottle and it ain't bad guys and cheaper and aged longer than CC6.

Sorry...but there is ONLY ONE that fits the bill...Makers Mark!!! It is NOT made in quantity liked Jack, Jim Beam, Seagrems, etc. It's made in small batches while still keeping the price reasonable. I've been through their distillary and it's remarkable how small it is compared to the other "mass marketed" whiskeys. It tastes great, and it's one of the FEW bourbons I can drink straight without "gagging". Good stuff!!!
Wild Turkey 101
Black Velvet
Orest
3 years ago i shot a nice elk, my first, in the mountains of colorado, and the only thing other than essentials that I packed up to that little spot at 13K feet was a water bottle filled with Crown Royal...ahhh, now that was some good sippin. and of course, no coke...
Jack Daniels if you please, Knock me to my knees. You're the only firend there has ever been that didn't do me wrong.
No Scotch for me
Jamison's
I would have said Jack Black but that was never sipped from where I come from. I liked the dirty bird 101 too (Wild Turkey 101).
Now, I can honestly say, I'm rarely caught on the beach without a bottle of Jack Daniels with me.
But if I'm at home and I want something really nice, with just a splash of water on it to open the flavor, you can't beat Woodford Reserve - Distillers Select
Don't look for any other bourbon once you have found this one, because this may be the best.![]()
Seagrams VO
Jack Daniels
But I cant just sip them, I usually end up on the floor.![]()
Good responses...keep it up,,,to each his own,,,haven't seen a one I disagree with.....sipping is the dipping of life...lol
Ooooops! I forgot Crown Royal..................and its gotta be straight up, or on ice.
Mixing pollutants with Crown is a sin.![]()
Jack (Green label), anniversary or single barrel
Jamisons
Clamore
Tulamore dew
Hennessey (GREAT WITH CIGARS!!!!!!)
Cointreu
Crown Royal with ameretto
I also forgot.....courvisier and grand marnier
Those are good for me but there are still others.

10 high!!!!!!!!
i have never looked above my knees in an ABC store.
I haven't sipped in awhile, but I used to like Maker's Mark and Canadian Hunter. Jamisons is good, too, imo. Sprts is correct about the Maker's Mark distillery. I took the tour there once.
BTW: total tangent here, but fishing related - if you're ever near the Jim Beam distillery right outside Frankfort, KY, take yer fishin' pole. There are two Elkhorn Creeks - one North Elkhorn and one South Elkhorn - I think the one there at the JB distillery is North - anyway, when I lived up there several years ago we used to catch some pretty nice smallmouth in there right down from the distillery (wading) on live crawdads and 4-inch blue worms.![]()
