Glowing lures
Several years back I did an experiment with bucktails with glowing heads and those without. By a large margin the glowing bucktails outproduced, but in the last few years I hadn't really thought about it.

This year, I'm going to coat all my leadheads and a few of my lures in luminescent paint and charge them up with a light while fishing. Anybody else had positive/negative experiences with this? |

I like the glow in the dark Got-cha plugs. Surprisingly, alot of the people down here don't use the Got-chas much. There's alot of different techniques, but many of my VA styles work wonders here.

I've had decent results with the Gotcha plugs too. I've also tried the glow in the dark bass assassins without any luck.

I tied some small bucktails (1/64th & 1/32 oz) for crappie fishing, thought I was using a pearl white flashabou accent, it was glow in the dark. I had tied about 25 and when I turned the light out on my work bench it scared me real good. I used some of them in August under a bridge, all the keepers I caught were on the black with the glow accents. I have tied up some saltwater sizes but have not tried them yet, hope to get out to Lynnhaven this week. I sent some to a guy in Delaware, said he been tearing up the speckled trout under the lights on them. i'm not tyring to advertise but if you go to this page here is what they look like.

There is a paint called Glowmates. When it is charged up it is supposed to glow for twelve hours. I have not tried it yet but it sounds interesting. http://www.glowmates.com

Wilbur,
Sweet jigs. I tie mine very similar to yours with pearl flashabou in the middle. For saltwater, the 1/16th and 1/8th oz sizes have been very effective especially when used in tandem. Here's a mediocre pic of my jig. I'll be sending this one completely rigged to a board member this week.
