Hey guys I live Florida and I'm heading up to Jekyll Island this weekend (7-9th) and was looking for some info what i can expect to catch off the beach and or shore of the intercoastal etc... Were staying on the beach so any tips on what to use or what ill most likely catch would be appreciated. Also, anytime you need some info on the fishing in Central Florida.. let me know. Thanks for your time.

There should be some reds and small sharks in the surf down there. I've never really fished it so I can't offer you more than that.

it looks like no one fishes Jekyll Island, but what do people usually catch off the beach in GA this time of year? The same as in FL? whiting, pompano, blues, etc...?? thanks

Yeah, pretty much the same things. Georgia beaches for the most part are massive sandbars. There are some places where it seems you could wade forever, and then the tide comes in.

The south end of the island near the picnic area presents a good fishing area for sharks and croakers. the main beach gets to crowded during the day to safely fish. usually can catch mullet for bait in a cast net.
